State government has now made surveillance cameras must for all
commercial buildings, malls, hotels and has decided to bring amendment in the municipal
acts to change the building rules. A reward of Rs 10 lakh was also announced for
informants of twin blasts.
Chief Minister Mr. N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday Okayed the proposal to spent Rs 450
crore in next six months to set up 3500 cameras in Hyderabad and Cyberabad police
commissionarate limits.
After a review meeting by CM with state police officials Home Minister Ms. P Sabita Indra
Reddy said ,” A reward of Rs 10 lakh was announced for informers of terror suspects
involved in two blasts. We have found some clues regarding the blast,”
She added ,”Apart from installing new cameras it was also decided to identify an agency
to maintain them. In Cyberabad also recently around 30 cameras were installed in IT area
of Madhapur. The IT companies association will be helping police to maintain them,”
Home Minister said ,”as part of security measures the buildings like hotels, malls,
theatres should have electronic surveillance and rules will be amended. For old buildings
also we are going to make it compulsory. Regarding residential buildings gate communities
can come forward to do this. We will also bring awareness among apartment residents for
this.
Commissioner of Police Mr Anurag Sharma said ,”Thee are around 303 Cameras in the city in
which 23 are spoilt and removed. Around 15 are temporarily out of order. At present 265
are working,”
