Dilshuknagar bomb signature points finger at Indian Mujahideen, slurry, circuit timer used, Nuts, bolts, nails used a sharpnels. IM used similar bombs in Delhi and Mumbai

Udumula Sudhakar Reddy
Circuit timer was used to detonate the bomb with Ammonium Nitrate
emulsifier (slurry) stuffed in an Aluminium container. Forensic experts of State police
unraveled the bomb signature and confirmed that these kinds of bombs are used Indian
Mujahideen terror modules in Mumbai and Delhi blasts earlier. A preliminary forensic
report was given to the Investigating agencies. The forensic doctors of OGH mortuary who
conducted post mortem examination found nails, nuts and bolts inside the bodies. The bomb
making is pointing finger at IM officials said.
To cause maximum damage the terrorists used nuts, bolts and nails in the explosive
material which acted as missiles/sharpnels. Investigators ruled out the use of RDX.
An investigating official said ,”the circuit timer is based on delayed mechanism on
circuit board which detonates the bomb at the time as required. Slurry explosive weighing
around one Kilogram(from 700 to 1000grams) was used in the second bomb near Konark theater to have maximum
impact. In the first bomb less amount of explosive material was used.  A 3.9 volt
battery was used as power source. A detonator wire was also found. After assembling the
bomb in an aluminium container it was wrapped in a cloth and placed in a bag. Then the
bag was hung to a bicycle. Same kind of bomb signature was found at two places,” National
Security Guard Post Blast Investigation Team also found a timer at the scene of the
offence sources said.  The bombs are placed at a distance of 150 metres.
As there is no live bomb found in twin blasts unlike previous cases it was a tough task
for the bomb expert to determine the parts ad mechanism in the Improvised Explosive
Devices used by the terror suspects. The flames that were found after the blasts are due
to the fuel in vehicles.
Clues teams of city police lead by Dr Gopinath and Prakash found 15 vital clues including
the melted Aluminium pieces, cells used in calculator, battery, nails, and nuts and bolts
at the scene of the offence.
Osmania Medical College forensic department head Dr P Hari krishna said  "We retrieved
nails, nuts and bolts and metal pieces from the bodies that pierced. The bodies are
mutilated in the abdomen and lower parts(legs) indicating that the bombs were placed at
lower level. The injuries are similar to that of Gokul Chat blasts. The only difference
is in Gokul chat there are more injuries on head as the bomb was placed on a height,”
Experts say that difference in bomb making in Gokul Chat in 2007 and Dilshuknagar is that
wooden containers were used then and now Aluminium were used.
